One of the most exciting parts about watching America’s Got Talent: The Champions is waiting to see which performers will earn the Golden Buzzer, sending them straight through to the final round.
On this most recent episode, all four judges had already used up their buzzers… but there was one person left with the ability to advance one lucky contestant.
Kseniya Simonova is a remarkably talented artist who uses sand to express herself. Her work combines intricate sand art with music and storytelling.
Kseniya grew up in a small town in Ukraine. She’s a stay-at-home-mom by day and dedicated artist by night. In 2009, her husband secretly signed her up for Ukraine’s Got Talent. The audience went crazy over her routine and the video showing her performance went viral around the world. Kseniya won the competition and her life was forever changed.
Kseniya graced the AGT: The Champions stage, marking her very first time in America. The judges were blown away by her animation, which portrayed the story about a fellow artist who fell out of touch with his parents and wanted to reconnect with them — but it was already too late.
“You are one of the best contestants we’ve had over the years from all over the world,” Simon Cowell told her after her act. “In my mind, tonight, you are the champion,” Howie Mandel remarked.
However, none of the four judges had a say in which two acts would advance to the finale. That’s when host Terry Crews crashed the stage with the last Golden Buzzer of the season.
